ARTICLE IV: Uniform Standards & APPROVAL
Uniform elements may be purchased or hand made in any combination. Screen accuracy is strongly encouraged as it provides a more enriching experience for both our members and admirers. Having said that, Blackstar Squadron recognizes that the process of assembling a uniform is a personal experience bound by materials, skills and resources. Therefore, the underlying judgement for any uniform submission is the “10-Foot Rule”… it must look presentable and recognizable from ten feet away.
A minimum uniform will consist of belt, boots, hat, pants, patches, pins and tunic as appropriate. Specific details can be found in the forums or the Fleet Library. Accessories such as a battle jacket, gun belt, etc., are not required, but if included they must qualify under both canon and the “10-Foot Rule.” To request approval for advancement to Warrior (voting membership), a uniform must be complete and the Trainee must submit the following personal information and standard photographs to the Quartermaster at [email protected]:
Photos should be 2 megapixels are larger, well lit, in focus and taken against a plain background with only canon items included (no baseball caps or sunglasses please). You are applying for Colonial Service! Tuck that tunic, don’t slouch, look confident. These shots will become part of your Warrior Dossier. Submitter will be notified of approval status by the Quartermaster with comments. Decisions will be biased to approve but don’t get discouraged if your first submission is rejected or additional information is requested. These are usually technical errors and easily corrected. Just adjust and resubmit. At the Quartermaster’s discretion, a uniform may receive conditional approval with the Trainee receiving the voting but non-dossier rank of Recruit. Conditional approvals expire 12 months after original submission. If a corrected submission is not received within the conditional period, the Recruit will be automatically remanded back to Trainee. In the event that the Quartermaster is unable to approve a potential member submission, the High Council will vote on approval. Upon approval, Membership Officer will issue welcome letter and Webmaster will post official notice in "Squadron Announcements." |
